Maternity photo session 11.26.06

Today we had a solo maternity session at our San Diego studio. Our subject was Jenifer, who will be having a baby girl in early March. As usual, we shot with two backdrops and a variety of clothing and lighting setups. Here are two of my favorites:

Studio maternity session 11.21.06

Tonight we photographed a mommy to be and her young daughter. After a quick glance at the pictures, I'd say we got some beautiful photos. We'll also be photographing the baby after he is born next month.

Maternity photography at the beach

Today we met with Patti and Lionel, who are expecting their first baby next month. They wanted maternity photos done at the beach. We shot the photos at our usual beach location - the Hotel Del Coronado

The sunset wasn't bad, but a thick fog quickly rolled in. It chased us off the beach just after the sun went down. However, we were able to get some beautiful photos of Patti and Lionel in front of the hotel itself. The fog actually helped these images.

San Diego studio maternity photography 11.16.06

This evening we had a maternity photo session with Marie and Chris. They are expecting their first baby on Christmas Day.

We were able to capture some beautiful photographs of the couple. Some time shortly after the baby is born, we will also be doing a newborn session with them.

Studio and Beach photography in one night

Today we had the pleasure of photographing a young gentleman by the name of Brian. We were hired to photograph both beach photos and studio photos. He also had the idea of wearing a dress suit in the beach photos, which certainly was a change from the traditional khaki and white.






For the studio portraits, Brian chose to also wear his Navy clothing, which looked very classy.

Photography - Portraits of Lindsey

Today we had the pleasure of photographing a young girl by the name of Lindsey. She was a bit camera shy, but after some playful talk of her being a Supermodel, I think we made her a bit more comfortable in front of the camera.

We shot all of the portraits at our studio in San Diego, and used a variety of backdrops. Lindsey's Husband is in the military, so we even broke out our US Flag backdrop (one of my favorites).

We had a great time photographing Lindsey, and hope that she had fun as well.

Pittman family portraits 11.11.06

Today we had the pleasure of photographing the Pittman family. The shoot was done at the Rancho Valencia Resort in Del Mar (http://www.ranchovalencia.com/). We were just a little rushed, because one of the young men in the group was getting married at 3pm! No problem, we got plenty of great photos.

The Rancho Valencia Resort was a beautiful setting for photographs, and we were able to utilize a variety of different locations and settings. Plenty of beautiful plants and scenery.

The session finished around 12:30, and everyone raced off to the wedding, where undoubtedly a lot more photographs were taken!

Kip & Samantha

Tonight we shot engagement photos for Kip and Samantha. We'll be photographing their wedding on 12/16 as well. Samantha wanted her engagement photos done at beautiful La Jolla Shores. La Jolla Shores makes for a beautiful backdrop for portrait photography.




We shot photos in several different locations, and got a wonderful
variety of photographs. Kip and Samantha plan to display a large photo from our session at their wedding reception, and we'll be creating Christmas cards from their photographs as well.

Chamber of Commerce Business Expo

We spent our day at the 18th annual San Diego CoC Business Expo. Met some wonderful people, made new contacts, spread the word about Caught on Film Photography and hopefully drummed up some new business.

Our booth got a lot of attention, and we had plenty of people stop by to admire our photography. It was nice to get so many complements on our photographs and other products.

Baby photo session 11.5.06

Our son Gavin turned six months old on October 28th. We celebrated by doing a photo session with him. We always aim for something out of the ordinary with our childrens photography, unlike the cookie cutter stuff you get at a chain store. Gavin was very cooperative and we were able to capture some beautiful baby photographs to add to our portfolio.


My personal favorites are baby photos using a mirror (don't worry it's acrylic not glass). They make for some very unique childrens photography. We're not into huge props, we prefer the focus to be on the baby. But we do have a few fun props in our photography studio.
